This listing is the fan coil (indoor section) only. A matching Wine Guardian DS050 condensing unit is required and is sold separately, or order the complete DS050 system.
The DS050 is a Wine Guardian Sentinel Series ducted split system for medium sized residential and commercial wine rooms. The fan coil sits outside the cellar and moves cooled air through insulated ducts, while the condensing unit can go outside the home, so the cellar stays free of equipment and compressor noise. Wine Guardian rates it at 6,458 BTU/h at 80Β°F outdoor air.
Best for
- Cellars of about 650 to 3,000 cubic feet. Wine Guardian notes the range depends on use and room construction.
- Keeping equipment and noise out of the cellar and out of sight.
- Rooms with no suitable wall for a through-the-wall unit.
Not the right fit if
- You want a unit you can install yourself. Wine Guardian requires installation by qualified technicians certified to handle refrigerant.
- There is no indoor space near the cellar for the fan coil, with 3 feet of service clearance and no more than 15 feet of height difference to the condensing unit.
- The ducts would total more than 25 feet, including bends, without being checked first.
- You need moisture added. That takes the optional Wine Guardian humidifier, which needs a water supply and a drain.
Installation requirements
- Fan coil indoors near the wine room, outside the cellar, supported from the bottom on a level platform or frame. It must not hang from its top.
- Insulated supply and return ducts: Wine Guardian recommends 10 inch ducts for a single run or 8 inch for a double run, and no more than 25 feet of supply and return duct in total, including bends. Check longer runs with Wine Guardian before ordering.
- A dedicated 115 V circuit for the factory power cord (11.8 A minimum circuit with the heat option), and a 1/2 inch condensate line to an open drain or condensate pump, with no external trap.
- Copper refrigerant lines from the installer, 1/4" liquid and 1/2" suction, up to 90 equivalent feet with a maximum lift of 15 feet.

Common questions
What ships with the fan coil? The power cord, the remote interface controller with 50 feet of cable, supply and return duct collars and a 7 foot drain hose. Ductwork, refrigerant lines and the condensing unit are not included.
Which option do I need? The base model covers normal cellar storage. The All Wine Temperatures option adds a factory mounted 1,000 W heater and controls for 45 to 64Β°F, for serving temperatures or a room that can drop below 50Β°F.
What does the warranty cover? Parts for 25 months and labor for 13 months from the original invoice, for the original buyer. Labor is covered only with Wine Guardian approval before work starts.
