Breezaire WKL 6000 Through-the-Wall Wine Cellar Cooling Unit (1,500 cu ft)

The Breezaire WKL 6000 is a self contained wine cellar cooling unit that mounts through a wall and ships fully charged, with no ductwork or refrigerant work on site. Breezaire rates it for wine cellars up to 1,500 cubic feet built to its construction guidelines.

Best for

• Cellars of about 1,000 to 1,500 cubic feet, per Breezaire's sizing guide.
• A wall that backs onto a well ventilated room for the warm exhaust.
• One unit on a standard 115 V outlet, with no refrigerant work.
• Cellars insulated and vapor sealed on every side.

Not the right fit if

• The warm side would exhaust into an unventilated closet, laundry room, bathroom, garage, crawl space, attic or humid basement.
• The cellar has glass doors or windows. Breezaire's sizing does not account for glass.
• You need quiet on the warm side. Breezaire estimates 67 dB-A; the split WKSL 4000 (up to 1,000 cu ft) puts its condenser up to 50 feet away.

Installation requirements

• A framed opening about 1/4 inch larger than the unit, and above floor level a shelf that carries 101 lb. Upright only.
• Warm side flush with the outside of the wall, grille attached, 3 feet of open space in front.
• At least R-11 insulation in interior walls and floors and R-19 in exterior walls and the ceiling, vapor barrier on the warm side.
• 115 V, 9.5 A on a grounded GFCI outlet on its own circuit, plus a condensate drain.

Common questions

Does it need a refrigeration technician? No. It ships fully charged; the site work is the opening, the shelf, the circuit and the drain.

Will it cool my room? Breezaire's sizing assumes a cellar built to its guidelines, and Breezaire states it cannot warrant that a unit will cool a particular room. Send us the size and construction and we will check.

What is the BTU rating? Breezaire rates the WKL line by cellar volume, not BTU. When the air outside the cellar is more than 25°F warmer than the setting, capacity drops.
